[Satellite TODAY 01-03-12] Globalstar’s Europe Satellite Services subsidiary has signed an authorized distribution agreement with TS2 Satellite Technologies to act as its distributor for mobile satellite voice and duplex data products to the defense, government and private sectors in Poland, the companies confirmed Jan. 3.
“By becoming an official distributor of Globalstar, we can finally offer a complete range of global MSS services to our customers,” TS2 Owner and CEO Marcin Frackiewicz said in a statement. “We are excited about the opportunities this new partnership opens up for us. Our customers will be able to take advantage of the low-cost and high quality voice and data services that Globalstar will offer once they have completed deployment of their second-generation satellite constellation next year.”
The agreement follows the Dec. 28 Arianespace launch of Globalstar’s six new second-generation satellites on a Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The Globalstar second-generation constellation is designed to support its line of voice, duplex and simplex data products and services, including its suite of Spot retail consumer products.
