DigitalGlobe Partners With George Clooney’s Satellite Sentinel Project

[Satellite TODAY 01-28-11] DigitalGlobe entered into a partnership with Sudan’s Satellite Sentinel Project to deliver imagery and analysis in support of the country’s recent vote on independence.
The company said the images and analysis helped the project and its collaborators monitor Sudanese Armed Forces troops in areas of South Kordofan and around the oil-producing region of Abyei.
Actor George Clooney conceived the Satellite Sentinel Project in October while on a fact-finding mission to southern Sudan. The project’s financier, Not On Our Watch, aims to divert global attention and resources toward ending global mass atrocities and is headed by Clooney and a number of other Hollywood actors and producers.
