[Satellite TODAY 11-18-10] Canadian information solutions provider MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) has released its National Urban Change Indicator – a new geospatial product that provides coverage over the lower 48 U.S. states, MDA announced Nov. 17.
The MDA solution uses satellite imagery to show if and when an area has undergone a human-induced construction change over a 25-year time period. MDA created the product using its Correlated Land Change proprietary process it has developed over the last three years.
The company also said that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have already purchased agency licenses for the product.
