RapidEye Expands Marketing Partnership With Dniprocosmos

[Satellite TODAY 06-10-10] Ukrainian Space Agency subsidiary Dniprocosmos State Co. has signed an agreement with geospatial solutions provider RapidEye to distribute its data services in Ukraine, RapidEye announced June 9.
    The agreement builds on an existing cooperative effort between the two companies to develop a market for RapidEye imagery data services in Ukraine. The two companies also built rockets to launch RapidEye satellites in 2008.
    “In 2009, we successfully completed a joint pilot project to monitor agrarian resources in our country. Currently, we are in process of a joint project using land cover classification. Becoming a RapidEye distributor will allow us to implement the latest space technology for our Ukranian users,” Dniprocosmos Deputy Director Vyacheslav Voloshyn said in a statement.
