Redu Captures Pathfinder 2 Data

      [Satellite TODAY 10-27-09] Redu Space Services has captured automatic identification system (AIS) data from the Pathfinder 2 satellite via the European Space Agency (ESA) ground station in Redu, Belgium, the company announced Oct. 26.
           Redu Space Services is a subsidiary of SES Astra and LuxSpace Sàrl, a Luxembourg-based subsidiary of OHB Technology. Pathfinder 2, launched from India in September, was developed, integrated and tested by LuxSpace.
          “We are very pleased to position the ESA ground station in Redu as a precursor in AIS space-based messages reception and payload commanding. We are looking forward to further extending the involvement of Redu into AIS in close cooperation with LuxSpace and with the strong support from the governments of Luxembourg and Belgium,” Isabelle Mauny, general manager of Redu Space Services, said in a statement.
