BT Media Extends Reach into Central, Northeast Asia Through Satellite Deal

[Satellite Today 06-26-09] BT Media & Broadcast signed a deal with CET Teleport to extend its Global Media Network (GMN) reach using satellite, BT announced.

The deal enables media and broadcast organizations located in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Central and Northeast Asia to deliver and exchange large bandwidth content such as high-quality, real-time video.

CET Teleport will offer services and solutions based on BT’s GMN in areas where previously it had not been available. Customers also will gain access to BT’s global IP network, which reaches more than 300 points of presence in 170 countries.

BT’s existing GMN coverage of more than 70 locations across 10 countries will be extended via CET Teleport’s access to over 200 geostationary satellites.
