Industry News Telstar 11N Launches from BaikonurThe Telstar 11N satellite has been launched into a geosynchronous transfer orbit and is on its way to a final orbital position of 37.5 degrees West, Sea Launch announced.
A Zenit-3SLB rocket lifted off the from Baikonur Space Center Feb. 26, carrying the Space Systems/Loral-built communications satellite for Telesat. The satellite will provide capacity for a broad range of video and data applications that connect the continents of North America, Europe and Africa.

Telstar 11N has 39 Ku-band transponders as well as an Atlantic Ocean beam, which will support mobile broadband for maritime and aeronautical markets.
