ILS Launches Turksat 4A

      [Via Satellite 02-19-2014] International Launch Services (ILS) has successfully launched the Turksat 4A satellite aboard an ILS Proton vehicle. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation built the satellite for Turksat Satellite Communications, Cable TV and Operation Inc. Co. This launch was the first ILS launch for the satellite manufacturer and operator, and was also the first ILS launch of the year.

      The Turksat 4A will provide telecommunication and direct TV broadcasting services across a wide geographic region including Turkey, Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The multi-band satellite has an expected on-orbit maneuver lifespan of 30 years. The satellite will also provide its customers with flexibility of easy switching and connectivity among different service areas.
