Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) has appointed Ron Steger to its board of directors. Steger’s appointment commenced on April 17, and he will also join the board’s audit committee.

Steger has served on the boards of directors of Overseas Shipholding Group since August 2014 and International Seaways since November 2016, and currently serves on the audit committee, corporate governance and risk assessment committee, and human resources and compensation committee of those boards. Since September 2015, Steger has served as the senior technical advisor to the Effectus Group, an accounting advisory firm based in Silicon Valley. He has also served on the advisory board of Atreg, a global advisory firm specializing in the semiconductor and related advanced technology verticals, since February 2014.

Global Eagle Entertainment is rebuilding its executive team following the abrupt departure earlier this year of former Chief Executive Office (CEO) Dave Davis and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tom Severson.
