[Satellite TODAY 02-04-13] KVH Industries has launched a new TracVision R1, which allows motorhomes, travel trailers, or fifth-wheel trailers travelling in the continental United States to watch satellite TV programming from Dish Network or DirecTV even while the vehicle is in motion.

The 13.5-inch, single-cable TracVision R1 weighs 7.5 pounds and promises to deliver in-motion performance typical of larger antennas. KVH offers the device in two configurations: the R1ST and the R1DX. The R1ST includes an integrated 12V DirecTV receiver/controller, which allows the user to use its DirecTV subscription to watch standard-definition programming on the road.

The R1DX is targeted for users who prefer Dish Network or who want to switch among satellite TV service providers. This version also offers a 12V multiservice interface box/controller that supports virtually all home receivers from Dish Network and DirecTV.
