Harmonic Powers New Alpha Networks IPTV, OTT Video Services

[Satellite TODAY 06-06-12] Belgian telecom operator Alpha Networks has launched its Billi IPTV and OTT services based on Harmonic’s video processing, server and storage solutions, Harmonic confirmed June 5.

Harmonic said its video platforms enabled Alpha Networks to cost-effectively deliver high-quality HD video services to multiple viewing devices, including connected TVs, PCs, tablets and smartphones.
“The key to launching competitive multi-screen services was figuring out an efficient way to deliver live IPTV services to set-top boxes, as well as live and video-on-demand services using OTT technologies,” Alpha Networks COO Guillaume Devezeaux said in a statement. “Through a single, integrated architecture, Harmonic’s range of solutions delivers a richer multimedia experience to subscribers, while lowering our operating and capital expenses.”
