IDC Reports Canadian Military Broadcast Extension

[Satellite Today 12-09-08] International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) won a contract with the Canadian Department of National Defense to continue broadcasting Canadian Forces Radio and Television (CFRT) to Canadian soldiers serving overseas, IDC announced Dec. 9.
    The CFRT network delivers entertainment programming, sports and news over two television channels in both French and English as well as FM radio from its Ottawa based network operations centre.
    Valued at $2.7 million for the first year, the contract has renewal options for an additional two years for a total potential value of more than $8.1 million. IDC has been providing these services since 2000, and this is the fourth time IDC has won the competition for this contract.
