Redknee Provides Inmarsat With Billing System

[Satellite Today – 2-12-08] Redknee Solutions Inc. will provide a turnkey billing system to Inmarsat PLC, the satellite operator announced Feb. 11.
    Under the first phase of the agreement, Redknee set up new billing functionality for subscribers of Inmarsat’s satellite phone service. For the second phase, Redknee is working on a similar solution for Inmarsat’s Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service.
    The multi-million dollar agreement is Redknee’s first entry into the global mobile satellite communications market. "Redknee’s solution allows us to strengthen and enhance our existing operations while increasing the value of our service offering to our customers,” Michael Butler, president and COO of Inmarsat, said in a statement. “We chose the Redknee platform for its ability to seamlessly integrate with our existing [customer relationship management] system and its ability to support planned new services in various configurations without interruption."
