ABS Makes Supreme Deal

[Satellite Today – 1-14-08] Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) has signed a multiyear capacity deal with Supreme Master Television, the company announced Jan. 14. ABS will broadcast Supreme Master Television on the Asia-wide Direct to Home bouquet of channels on the ABS-1 Ku-band platform. Supreme Master Television is a new satellite channel broadcasting 24 hours a day, in more than 40 languages with 30 subtitles. Its programming covers entertainment, films, news, documentaries, lifestyle and culture etc.
“We are delighted to work with SMTV to premiere this new channel across the region on our DTH platform on the ABS-1 Southern Ku beam,” said Tom Choi, CEO of ABS. “With our location at 75ºE, our extensive footprint will enable SMTV to immediately reach mass audiences across Asia by distributing directly to viewers at home on a Free-to-Air basis, as well as making it easy and cost effective for cable head-ends to receive this channel by simply installing a small Ku-band dish.”
