Globecomm Awarded Contract For Broadcast Station

[11-28-07 – Satellite Today] Globecomm Systems Inc. received a contract to provide a direct-to-home broadcast ground station valued from an unnamed European services provider, Globecomm announced Nov. 28.
    Under the $1 million contract, Globecomm will upgrade an existing satellite antenna as well as install a low noise amplifier subsystem, digital video broadcasting-second generation modulator subsystem and a high power amplifier subsystem. The work is expected to be completed by the end of March.
    "Globecomm’s customers continue to turn to us as they upgrade and expand their broadcast networks,” David Hershberg, CEO and chairman of Globecomm, said in a statement. “We have a proven track record in building highly reliable network infrastructure and are well positioned to capitalize on the growth in the broadcast market."
