European Arabs To Get New TV Options

[09/07/07 – Satellite Today] Orbit Communications Co. and Eutelsat Germany have concluded an agreement to distribute Arabic channels to cable operators in continental Europe, the company announced Sept. 7.

The channels will be available to cable networks in the KabelKiosk platform. Orbit will initially launch three channels, expanding to cover all seven of their channels in the next few months. Al-Yawn, an Arabic contemporary entertainment and variety channel, Al-Safwa, a cultural and entertainment channel, and The Series Channel, which is the first 24-hour channel to offer series from throughout the Arab world, will be available to the up to three million Arab homes across Europe.
