By Staff Writer | August 23, 2007

[07/23/08 – Satellite Today] Scopus Video Networks is deploying a fourth transponder system for Digital Cable System (DCS), a Romanian cable and direct-to-home operator, Scopus announced Aug. 23.

The system, which will be deployed in DCS’ Bucharest headends, will be used to expand the operator’s Max TV direct-to-home service. The new system is composed of IVG-7100 intelligent video gateway platforms, IRD-2900 integrated receiver decoders, statistically multiplexed encoder systems and network management system software.

“Scopus’ systems have enabled us to enhance our capabilities and realize the ambitious goals we set when we founded DCS in 2005,” Mihai Springer, CTO at DCS, said in a statement. “We have been extremely satisfied with the reliability of the systems that Scopus supplied us a year ago as well as with their professional support. It was a natural choice for us to select them again for the expansion of our headends.”
