[Via Satellite 05-22-2014] Eutelsat has sold Eutelsat visAvision GmbH to M7A Group, trading under the name of M7 Deutschland. Eutelsat visAvision GmbH is the operator of the KabelKiosk platform of digital channels and interactive services for cable and Internet Protocol television (IPTV) networks in Germany. With the sale, M7A Group, an affiliate of M7 Group, will launch KabelKiosk’s new IPTV and Over-The-Top (OTT) video delivery platforms.

Eutelsat plans to continue working with M7 Deutschland and has established a partnership for connected TV services. M7A’s purchase includes the long-term lease of multiple transponders at Eutelsat’s 9 degrees east orbital position.

“Having built a strong video distribution platform in Germany, it is now time for a new shareholder to drive KabelKiosk forward as it embarks on a new chapter of expansion. Following the recent launch by M7 of its new Hungarian pay-TV venture from our 9 degrees east video neighborhood, the transaction announced today strengthens our relationship with the M7 group of companies,” said Michel de Rosen, chairman and CEO of Eutelsat.

Eutelsat has kept the terms of the sale confidential. The transaction is expected to close in July following regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.

KabelKiosk generated approximately $34 million of revenues during Eutelsat’s 2012-2013 financial year.
