SES Deploys ViXS Decoder in First UHD Broadcast at SES Industry Days

[Via Satellite 04-08-2014] ViXS has partnered with SES in an end-to-end satellite broadcast of Ultra-HD content, demonstrated during the seventh SES Industry Days in Luxembourg. SES displayed this Ultra-HD content using the ViXS XCode 6400 decoder, which encodes in 10-bit High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) at 60 frames per second.
The ViXS XCode 4600 is currently in commercial production with immediate availability, along with other HEVC silicon products and solutions.
The demonstration represents the first end-to-end broadcast of Ultra-HD content using 10-bit HEVC.
