ATEME Taps New Vice President

[Satellite TODAY 08-12-13] ATEME, a video compression solutions provider for the broadcast industry, announced that Karen McCone, has joined the company as vice president, media accounts for the Americas region. She will report to Mike Antonovich, senior vice president and general manager, Americas.

McCone has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience with companies as diverse as Aldea Solutions, Kangaroo TV, Verisign, Pittsburgh International Teleport, Invidex, Microcell Telecommunications and Spectra Telecommunications. She has taken an active part in launching major compressed digital video networks across Europe and the Americas, and was involved in delivering prominent events such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2011 Pan American Games and the 2012 London Olympics to broadcasters in Latin America.

In her new role, McCone will bring ATEME’s solutions to major media clients across Canada and the northeast United States. She will continue to build upon the relationships she has developed through the years in satellite, cable, fiber and broadband service and the emerging opportunities in streaming and file-based media deployments.
