NDS Expands Korean Presence

[11-16-07 – Satellite Today] NDS is expanding its sales, support and research and development operation in Seoul, Korea, the company announced Nov. 16. The facilities have been operational since 2001.
    “NDS Korea is pivotal in our ability to roll out state-of-the-art technologies such as advanced conditional access and middleware solutions, set-top box (integration and mobile solutions to some of the world’s largest broadcasters,” Sue Taylor, vice president and general manager of NDS Asia Pacific, said in a statement. “The opening of the new NDS Seoul office is in recognition that Korea is a key player in the deployment of digital pay-TV.”
    Korea has become a major player in the broadband and pay-TV industry, with government initiatives that promote 100 percent digital conversion by 2012 .
